So, the basic stuff: I grew up in the Midwest, soaked up pop culture from the time I was old enough to get up on a Saturday morning and find cartoons on TV by myself, went to college at Northwestern and worked for a couple of small newspapers before landing in L.A. and at Zap2it in the early 2000s.

I didn't always know that I wanted to make watching TV my job, but I also didn't know that was a thing until I was an adult. Now, I highly recommend it. Especially if you're the kind of person who still remembers the theater where you first saw "Star Wars" at the age of 5, finds yourself humming the theme songs to cheesy action shows from the '80s from time to time, or wonders how you can get your hands on an official Penny Can can.

Something people don't know about me: I'm left-handed, but when I was about 12 I spent a summer trying to become ambidextrous. It didn't really take, but I still brush my teeth right-handed.

Guilty food pleasure: Salsa Verde Doritos.

Guilty pop culture addiction: Cooking Channel.

Movies I will watch anytime they're on: "All About Eve," "Dazed and Confused," "Midnight Run."

First celebrity I ever interviewed: Ben Stiller, for my college newspaper.

Do I stay for the final movie credits: Usually.

TV town I want to live in: Springfield.
