10 Spoilers: 'American Horror Story' seeks Adam Levine's lover, a 'Grey's Anatomy' tearjerker, and a new 'Spartacus' characterAdd to Favorites | Hawaii Five-0
This week, our Monday Kickstart includes scoop on "The Secret Circle's" dark magic twist, a "Hawaii Five-0" shower scene, and an "Awake" reality conundrum.
"The Big C": Something is rotten in the state of Minnesota, as Allison Janney drops by to kill Cathy, Adam gets caught back-dooring his girlfriend and Sean's phone sex job spills over into his actual life.
"Criminal Minds": We've known for a while that Paget Brewster is leaving the series at the end of the season, but we're kind of wondering if fans will be satisfied with how her character, Emily Prentiss, departs. We wouldn't want to say exactly how it goes down, but we can tell you it's tied to Emily's previous departure from the BAU and her ordeal with Ian Doyle.
"Hawaii Five-0": You've been wondering who that is in the shower with Kono (Grace Park), haven't you? Well, we can say for sure that it's not McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) or any other member of the team. It's Adam Noshimuri (Ian Anthony Dale), and that could make things rather complicated for her at work, since he's the head of the local Yakuza. It's no wonder she's been keeping her boyfriend a secret from Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim).
"Awake": Britten gets stuck in his Hannah reality for a few days and thinks it's because he's finally realized this is the real reality for him -- but then he remembers the entire accident -- and who was responsible (this other police officer, who was supposedly one of the first on the scene after the accident but actually ran him off the road). Then he gets to go back to his Rex reality.
"Smash": In "Previews," Michael Swift returns to fill the role of Joe DiMaggio in "Bombshell," but by the end of the episode, the show may have yet another empty role to fill. Also, one of the series' more stable pairs breaks up but reconciles by the end of the hour -- at church of all places. And Dev loses something important during his secret tryst with Ivy.
"Awkward": If you thought Jenna's blog was a bit of an overshare before, you ain't seen nothin' yet. She's going to spill a whole lot more of her guts all over the internet -- and then she's going to reap the consequences.
"Spartacus": Producers are looking for someone to play Crassus, who -- according to the history books -- was the man able to suppress Spartacus' slave revolt army.
"Grey's Anatomy": As we all know, there's a very significant death coming up in the season finale -- and Jesse Williams admits that even the cast members were devastated when they found out who was getting the axe. "Even though we sort of knew it was coming, because we'd heard about negotiations or whatever, it was still tough," Williams admits. "It was really emotional. People were bawling at the table read. We're attached to the characters and we're big fans of the people that we live and work with. People were bawling at the table read." Any guesses, "Grey's" fans?
"The Secret Circle": Though The CW hasn't given anyone official word on Season 2 as of press time, the season finale this week will set up a strong arc for a potential Season 2 -- and part of that will involve Cassie's ever-evolving dark side. "Not to be super lame, but it makes me think of that old Spider-Man quote: 'With great power comes great responsibility,'" teases Chris Zylka. "There's always that chance, that if you're playing with fire, if you're so strong and dark that no one can stop you, are you always going to make the right decision, or are you going to make the decision you want to make.'"
"American Horror Story": Season 2 details are being kept seriously under wraps, but we do know that producers are looking for a teenage, male contortionist for a guest starring role, as well as a character who is so far only known as "the most beautiful boy in the world." Uh, color us intrigued. Casting breakdowns have also gone out for the super-sexy, twenty-something Theresa -- the fiancee of Adam Levine's character.
