10 Spoilers: 'Nikita' heads to Hong Kong for Season 3 premiere, 'Parenthood' adds a love interest, and more
This week, our Monday Kickstart includes scoop on Amber's new love interest on "Parenthood," a messy situation on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and a returning Original in the upcoming fourth season of "The Vampire Diaries." Plus -- how long will Dean be in "Supernatural" purgatory?
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia": In the Season 8 premiere, the South Philly waste management workers go on strike -- and the garbage just starts piling up. True to form, the gang decides to take advantage of the situation ... and of the rich folks who are willing to fork over tons of cash to get the trash out of their lives. Needless to say, hijinks ensue.
"Royal Pains": Calling all pop stars! Producers are looking for someone with some musical skills to play the medical anomaly of the week in an upcoming episode -- a pop star who comes across as an outrageous Rihanna-type in the media, but is actually a quiet girl who prefers a night in to a Hollywood club. Hank is called to her side when she gets dizzy at a video shoot.
"Louie": Parker Posey has a two-part guest arc on the brilliant FX show starting July 19, and it's a doozy. We're still trying to get our heads around it all, but suffice to say that Louie may have met his match. She plays a bookstore worker whom Louie falls for ... but their first date turns into one weird ride. It's not quite "Something Wild," but it's not far off either.
"The L.A. Complex": Connor's house fire has some unexpected positive consequences. He finds himself in a committed relationship, but that new girlfriend glow won't last long -- we're talking 24 hours, max, thanks to a business opportunity that seems ripped directly from the blind gossip pages.
"Breaking Bad": You may have heard that the new season picks up right where Season 4 left off, and that's true -- mostly. But the pre-credits scene in Sunday's season premiere is from another point in time, and as such it will no doubt have people talking. A lot. We don't know what it means yet either, but boy are we interested. "Supernatural" fans will likely get a charge out of the opening sequence too. And speaking of...
"Supernatural": Dean won't be in Purgatory for long, at least when it comes to screen time. Like in previous years when Sam or Dean have gone to hell, they'll be reunited at the beginning of the season and we'll find out how they spent their time apart later on. We're hearing that fans shouldn't be wondering when Dean gets out of Purgatory -- the real cliffhanger is how he gets out.
"Damages": It's déjà vu all over again when the legal drama returns for its fifth and final season Wednesday, July 11. Just as Ellen Parsons is re-examining her fiancé's death, someone else winds up murdered in a bathtub. And while Patty Hewes isn't exactly boiling any family pets -- yet -- she's close to a "Fatal Attraction" obsession with Ellen, her former protégée.
"Nikita": The Season 3 premiere, aptly titled "3.0," will see Nikita and Michael heading to Hong Kong to protect some valuable U.S. assets. There, they'll meet the super-sexy Martin, a Division agent who has been on a long-term assignment in Hong Kong, posing undercover as a fashion photographer. However, after Percy died, Martin cut out his tracker and went rogue.
"Parenthood": Let's just say that Amber didn't really learn her lesson about mixing business with pleasure last season! When she starts working at the Luncheonette, she meets Nick -- a musician who is just her type. One of her uncles gets a little too much information when Nick's bandmates gossip about the situation. Awkward.
"The Vampire Diaries": When Daniel Gillies landed a regular role on NBC's "Saving Hope," we were worried that we'd seen the last of Elijah -- but that's not the case. Steven R. McQueen revealed that Gillies took part in a promotional photoshoot for Season 4 this weekend, so it's safe to assume Elijah is a pretty significant part of the season. (Plus, we're pretty psyched that this year, the entire cast was involved in the shoot. New Matt Donovan pics, y'all!)
