10 Spoilers: 'Supernatural' taps into LARPing, 'Teen Wolf' Season 3 dish, and a 'Grey's Anatomy' weddingAdd to Favorites | Hawaii Five-0
This week, our Monday Kickstart includes scoop on another fandom-fueled "Supernatural" episode, a funeral fight on "Parenthood," and details about the alpha pack in the "Teen Wolf" Season 3 premiere.
"Supernatural": We've seen some live-action roleplayers on the show before... and we're diving back into that fandom underworld again in the upcoming episode "LARP and the Real Girl." We'll meet Gerald, a LARPer who prefers to be referred to as an "interactive literaturist." He goes a little too far with his fascination with a medieval-style game .
"Teen Wolf": In the first episode of Season 3, we'll meet Deucalion, the leader of the new pack of Alpha werewolves. He's eloquent, intelligent, and he has a plan to turn Scott and Derek against each other. Meanwhile, Isaac -- who is expected to feature prominently this season -- will have a very rough time in the first episode. He's going to be badly injured, and even the hospital isn't safe. He does have someone looking out for him, though. Hmm.
"Emily Owens, M.D.": In episode 7, Emily treats Sierra, a very high-profile model who is stunned to learn that she has a cancerous tumor in her jaw that will require an invasive surgery that will destroy her good looks. When she refuses treatment, she and Emily have a heart-to-heart about beauty, identity, and prestige. (Oh yeah -- and her boyfriend's name is Kostas, which should give "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" fans a tiny thrill.)
"Parenthood": If you're like us, you've totally fallen in love with Matt Lauria's character, recently returned veteran Ryan. He's headed for a really sweet romance with Amber, but that doesn't mean things get easier for him. In an upcoming episode, Ryan learns that one of his friends has committed suicide. At the funeral, Ryan will get into a physical fight with another former comrade in arms who believes suicide is a cowardly act.
"The Newsroom": The first episode of Season 2 of "The Newsroom" will find Will and the rest of the team reporting on Occupy Wall Street, putting us around Sept. 2011 in the timeline. The Occupy Wall Street situation will continue to feature throughout the first part of the season.
"House of Lies": Producers are currently looking for actors to play Alex and Kyle Dushkin... AKA "the douchebag twins." They're a pair of handsome, spray-tanned, well-dressed brothers who used to be doormen, and now own nightclubs in Vegas. We'll see them a lot in the first part of Season 2, and producers are open to having one actor play both parts.
"Hawaii Five-0": In episode 11, a bank heist goes wrong (and just as Max is about to connect with a new love interest!). In the aftermath, McGarrett is kidnapped by Cordova, a dangerous hitman wanted for at least twenty murders. Cordova doesn't usually open up to men when he's about to take their lives, but he starts talking when he finds out that McGarrett knows a secret about him.
"The Mindy Project": Mindy has a close relationship with her 16-year-old patient, Sophia -- so when Sophia asks for a birth control prescription because she wants to lose her virginity to her boyfriend, Henry, Mindy is a little hesitant. And by "a little hesitant" we mean she marches down to Sophia's high school to meet Henry, right away.
"Grey's Anatomy": In episode 10, Seattle Grace will be overwhelmed by a biker gang when one of their own is injured -- the three main bikers are named Gasoline, Rage, and "The Hammer." Seriously. We'll also meet Stuart, a soft-spoken accountant who dreams of hitting the road on a motorcycle. In the same episode, there will be wedding bells! Shonda Rhimes is notoriously secretive about the show, but we've got a feeling that Bailey will be tying the knot before the holidays.
"Happy Endings": Max is getting a new roommate, named Chase. Described as a "cool, dangerous type" with a sexy accent, Chase "fascinates" Max... unfortunately. In the same episode, we'll meet Jane's ex, Ryan. (Yes, Ryan is a lady, y'all.)
