2012 Cannes lineup: Film festival features Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson and more
The festival kicks off with "Moonrise Kingdom," directed and written by Wes Anderson ("Rushmore," "The Royal Tenebaums") and starring Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Frances McDormand.
Another all-star cast U.S. movie is "The Paperboy," which is about a woman (Nicole Kidman) in love with an inmate (John Cusack) who is jailed for killing a corrupt, cold-blooded sheriff.
Brad Pitt will once again be heading to Cannes for "Killing Them Softly," in which he stars as a point man for a hitman. James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta also star.
Robert Pattinson may be making a big splash in what is perhaps his break-out role from the "Twiligiht" saga with Canadian film "Cosmopolis," by David Cronenberg ("eXistenZ," "A History of Violent"). Pattinson is Eric Packer, a Wall Street broker that the film follows during one day of his hectic life. It also stars Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche and Samantha Morton.
Also making its debut is a silver screen adaptation of "On the Road," the famous Jack Kerouac novel. It stars Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi and Elisabeth Moss.
