53rd annual Grammy Awards date announced
CBS will air the Grammys live (to the East Coast, at least) from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The 2011 Grammys are moving back to their usual February home. This year the awards were held on Jan. 31, mainly due to the Winter Olympics.
Because of the move, the cut-off date for music to be eligible for a Grammy was pushed up a month, meaning that for the 2011 Grammys, artists will have a 13-month eligibility window, from Sept. 1, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010.
CBS is hoping the move won't affect this year's ratings boost for the show. The 52nd annual Grammy Awards delivered the the award show's highest ratings since 2004.
