5-browns-gi.jpgThe father of classical music group The 5 Browns has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his three daughters.

Keith Scott Brown, 55, pleaded guilty on Thursday (Feb. 17) to three felony charges that he abused daughters Desirae, now 32, Deondra, 30, and Melody, 26, when they were minors. The three sisters, along with brothers Gregory, 28, and Ryan, 24, are all pianists and perform together as The 5 Browns; they've recorded four albums and toured extensively.

The elder Brown was charged last week; he pleaded guilty in a Utah court to one count of sodomy on a child under 14 and two counts of sex abuse of a child, People reports. He faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. Desirae, Deondra and Melody Brown had the option to remain anonymous in court filings but chose to let their names be public.

Keith Brown is a former manager of his Julliard-trained children's career, but he hasn't been involved with the group for the past couple of years.

On their website, The 5 Browns posted a brief message that doesn't refer directly to their father's case but thanks fans "for their concern and prayers on our behalf during this trying time." It's followed by the video below, titled "Thank You."
