A 'Once Upon a Time' death and Regina's 'second chance at love' when the show returns

robin-hood-once-upon-a-time-abc.jpgBig changes are happening for "Once Upon a Time" when it returns in March, including a series regular leaving the show.

Creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis tell TV Line that a major character dies "for real" and that the actor playing him or her will be leaving the show for good. They aren't spilling many details, but they did say it's not going to be Robert Carlyle, who is already technically "gone" after having sacrificed himself to save Storybrooke.

Who do you think it is, "OUAT" fans? Will the show be breaking 'shippers' hearts all over the world by dispatching with either Captain Hook or Neal?

The first episode when the series returns is titled "New York City Serenade" and will heavily explore what Emma's life is like with Henry, the EPs tell TV Guide. "Covert Affairs" star Christopher Gorham is guest-starring as someone who is "an integral part of two characters' lives." When the casting was announced, we were guessing Gorham had something to do with Emma's foster family.

They also clarify exactly how the Wicked Witch of the West will be worked into the "OUAT"-verse: They're using the "Oz" books as a jumping-off point, which means it will not necessarily be the same Wicked Witch as in "Wicked" or the 1939 Judy Garland movie.

Finally, there are a few new faces cropping up -- Lumiere and Rapunzel -- plus the return of Robin Hood, which gives Regina "a second chance at love."

"Once Upon a Time" returns Sunday, March 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
