Abby Elliott is leaving 'Saturday Night Live' tooAdd to Favorites | Saturday Night Live
Elliott's departure -- first reported by Splitsider -- makes her the third cast member to depart since last season, following Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg. Jason Sudeikis has also talked about possibly leaving "SNL" but hasn't made a final decision yet.
Elliott (whose dad, Chris Elliott, had a one-season run on "SNL" in the mid-1990s) joined the show in 2008 as a featured player and became a regular cast member the following season. Among her recurring characters/impressions on the show were Rachel Maddow, Khloe Kardashian, Ke$ha and Zooey Deschanel in the "Bein' Quirky with Zooey Deschanel" sketches (one of which you can watch below).
Her presence on the show last season, though, was often pretty minimal. Elliott also was attached to FOX's "Ben and Kate" early in its development but then departed the show ( Dakota Johnson ended up with the role).
NBC isn't commenting on Elliott's departure or any other "SNL" changes. Here's what is apparently the last installment of "Bein' Quirky":
