ABC Family picks up Raven Symone pilot, A.J. Cook returning to 'Criminal Minds'

ABC Family announced three pilot pick-ups. Zap2it was the first to report that "George Lopez's" Constance Marie and "Caroline in the City's" Lea Thompson were cast and now their one-hour scripted drama has been picked up. "Switched at Birth" follows two girls who, well, the title is self-explanatory. Also picked up: One-hour drama "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," about a girl who finds she has exceptional powers and someone wants her dead; And "The Great State of Georgia" starring Raven Symone in a half-hour comedy about a girl trying to make it in New York City. NBC has tapped Carson Daly to host its singing competition "The Voice," which is set to premiere in the spring. It'll be like "TRL" all over again! Or, you know, not. [ NBC]

"Criminal Minds" fans, rejoice! It's finally confirmed that  A.J. Cook is returning for one episode this spring as Jennifer "J.J." Jareau on the CBS show. [ TVLine]

The "Burn Notice" prequel is underway and rounding out its cast. "The Gates'" Chandra West, "The Good Guys'" RonReaco Lee, "Lost's" Kiele Sanchez, and "Stargate's" John Diehl have joined the two-hour TV movie airing on USA Network this spring. [ TVLine]

ABC has cast "Little Fockers" star Teri Polo and "Reno 911's" Mather Zickel in co-starring roles on its pilot, "Man Up!," which tries to explain what it takes to survive as a modern man. And HBO has nabbed "Stardust's" Charlie Cox for a recurring role on its Golden Globe and SAG Award-winning series, "Boardwalk Empire." []

FX snagged  "The Green Hornet" starring Seth Rogen after Showtime's airing of the film. Currently, the film has grossed more than $80 million at the box office. []

For Jan. 2011, Bravo reports a 60% increase in 18-49 year-olds and a 46% increase among total viewers over Jan. 2010. The numbers reflect the network's move to five days of programming, the continued success of its "Real Housewives" franchise and Andy Cohen's talk show, which grabbed 3.1 million viewers after the Atlanta finale. Logo announced five new series pickups: "Queen of Harts," from Peter Marc Jacobson, co-creator and producer of "The Nanny," about a former hairdresser who passes as a woman to get a job as a nanny for an 80s rock star; "Tig Has Friends," produced by Sarah Silverman, in which comedian Tig Notaro gets the dish from TV show casts, movie stars or bands.; the "Sally Hershberger Project" following the celeb hairstylist.; "Sex Therapy," in which we follow a therapy group with popular therapist, Dr. Christopher Donaghue.; And "Life's a Drag," which follows contestants' lives after "RuPaul's Drag Race." "America's Next Top Model" alum, plus-sized model Toccara Jones will be looking for love on Donald Trump's dating game for Channel One, "The Ultimate Merger." Season 2 of the show will air in Summer 2011. []

"The Battle for Marjah," the story of the U.S. marines' battle to liberate a key Afghanistan town, debuts Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. [ HBO]
