ABC sets summer premiere dates for 'Mistresses,' 'Bachelorette,' 'Astronaut Wives Club,' 'Bachelor in Paradise,' 'Rising Star,' 'The Quest' and more

mistresses-summer-premiere-date.jpg Winter's finally ending, so time to break out those flip flops, suntan lotion and mark your calendars: ABC has set its summer TV schedule.

The network announced on Monday (March 24) the summer premiere dates for new and returning series. Four new series are joining ABC's summer lineup: "The Astronaut Wives Club," "Bachelor in Paradise," "Rising Star" and "The Quest."

"The Astronaut Wives Club" is a 10 episode limited series about "the women who were key players behind some of the biggest events in American history. As America's astronauts were launched on death-defying missions, Life Magazine documented the astronauts' families, capturing the behind-the-scenes lives of their young wives." The drama stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Odette Annable, Zoe Boyle, Azure Parsons and Desmond Harrington.

"Bachelor in Paradise" brings back the biggest stars and villains of "The Bachelor" franchise. Per an ABC press release, contestants will "live together in an isolated romantic paradise for six episodes featuring new twists, shocking surprises, unexpected guests and some of the most unlikely relationships in 'Bachelor' history."

Reality series "Rising Star" "reinvents the traditional singing competition as the audience has the final say in real time. During contestants' performances, viewers vote via an app to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain number, the performer moves on, and the performer can see how the voting is going during the performance, so the feedback is immediate and dramatic"

"The Quest" is another reality show, which takes both contestants and audiences to "an amazing, imaginative realm, where the ogres are advancing in the woods, the dragons are stirring, agents of a dark lord are infiltrating the keep, and the only thing that stands between peace and chaos are 12 very unlikely heroes. It will be a fully immersive experience revolving around a castle, with state-of-the art projections, animatronics, prosthetics, real-time motion capture and art direction."

Returning series are "The Bachelorette," "Bet On Your Baby," "Extreme Weight Loss," "Mistresses," "Motive," "NY Med," "Rookie Blue" and "Wipeout."
