family-tools-cast-abc.jpgWhen ABC set about purging their low-rated shows on Friday (May 10), one comedy skated by with nary a mention -- mid-season comedy "Family Tools." But it seems ABC is keen to tidy up their garage, throwing these tools out.

Deadline reports that the show, which only premiered on May 1, has officially been canceled by the Alphabet network, joining a slew of other shows, including "Happy Endings," "Malibu Country," "How To Live With Your Parents," "Body of Proof" and "Red Widow."

In advance of revealing their 2013-14 schedule in New York at their Upfront, the network ordered three new comedies to replace those discarded: "Back in the Game," starring James Caan and Maggie Lawson; "Trophy Wife," with Malin Akerman and Bradley Whitford; and "Mixology," which will tell the interlocking stories of 10 single people at a bar on a single night.
