ACM Awards 2013: John Fogerty, Miranda Lambert and more 'can't believe it' moments

It's been a night of disbelief for some artists at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

During Sunday's (April 7) CBS telecast, it was John Fogerty's turn first. The Creedence Clearwater Revival veteran said of his co-presenter, "I can't believe I'm standing next to Miranda Lambert" -- though he's undoubtedly seen a lot of her, since she teams with him on the title cut of his album "Wrote a Song for Everyone," slated for a late-May release.

The duo then handed out the honor for album of the year, which went to "Chief" by Eric Church ... who took the stage at Las Vegas' MGM Grand and declared, "I can't believe I'm standing next to John Fogerty."

Truth is, it's not hard to imagine that many stars genuinely are excited to get together with one another, if only for a fleeting moment. Most country performers likely wouldn't imagine they'd get a chance to rub shoulders (or come close to it, anyway) with a rock icon like Fogerty, particularly at an award show that's country-centric.

On the other side of the coin, Fogerty probably is truly pleased to be among singers he normally wouldn't meet, either. Reportedly, he passed a note to Lambert while they were both attending an event, asking that she be part of his latest musical project. If that isn't testimony to his being a fan, we don't know what is.
