thompson-square-ACM-win-2013.jpgAt this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, the race was on! Coming into the big night, the fresh-faced Hunter Hayes was riding high, having procured the most nominations with six. He even beat out longtime country darling Taylor Swift, who only had five nominations this year -- perhaps because her music is skewing toward pop lately? Miranda Lambert, whose hubby Blake Shelton co-hosted with Luke Bryan, also had five nominations when the night began.

Of course, the big-ticket prize at the ACM Awards is always the Entertainer of the Year category, which encompasses all aspects of an artist's career, including their live shows. Nominees this year were Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift.
