Country took over Las Vegas on Sunday (April 6) for the
49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Country stars and their fans descended on the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the ceremony hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, featuring a star-studded list of performers and presenters including Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Shakira, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks and more. But first! The red carpet.
So who showed up looking like a million bucks? First up was Kellie Pickler, stunning in a sweet lilac ball gown. The former "Idol" contestant kept her accessories to a minimum, letting her bejeweled belt get all the attention and accentuating her curves.
Hunter Hayes proved that age or gender has nothing to do with dressing well, as the 22-year-old country star stepped on the red carpet in a sleek light grey suit and slicked back hair. Very suave.
"The Voice" Season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery looked absolutely beautiful in a nude colored, drop waist gown. She kept her look age-appropriate with jeweled embellishments and long sleeves, though we can't get over that va-va-voom red lipstick.
"The Voice" Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope wore the perfect shade of red to compliment her brown hair. The strappy gown fit in all the right places, and her natural-looking makeup and loose, flowing hair were all the accessories she needed.
Thomas Rhett took a fashion risk with his eggplant suit, and it paid off. The country star stood out on the carpet with his sleek, metallic suit and polka dot bow tie in the best possible way. But when your fashion competition is men in jeans and cowboy hats, it honestly isn't that hard to rise to the top, now is it?
