adam-levine-gq-profile.jpg "The Voice" coach and People's Sexiest Man Alive Adam Levine is frequently described as a "douchebag," but in GQ's new profile of the musician-turned-reality-star-turned-actor, he spends a lot of time contemplating whether he is one.

Levine's definitely aware that his public image leans toward the douchey side of things, but he genuinely believes that people would like him if they only got to know him.

"Would it be really easy to assume that I was a douchebag?" he asks the interviewer in a new GQ article that examines, once and for all, his douchiness. "Definitely. One hundred percent. But that doesn't mean that I am. Or maybe I am, I don't know."

Sure, the Maroon 5 singer dates Victoria's Secret models and parties and drive a Ferrari, but it's not like he isn't extremely talented and hard-working and deserving of his success. "I've worked hard," he says, "but I've also had a lot of wonderful things happen to me. I haven't been dealt a hard hand. I'm not an easy guy to root for."

Levine is aware of what people think about him, but he thinks he's a pretty fun person and that most people would really like him if they actually knew him in real life, rather than by reputation.

"You know what the gist of this article is?" he tells the interviewer. "Your opening line can be: 'You don't have to like me, but I'd prefer it if you did.' That's kind of how I feel. I'm not the easiest person to love right off the bat, you know. If I knew everyone in the world, they would love me. Every single last f***ing one of them."
