Aerosmith confirms summer tour, new album in three months

aerosmith-fenway-getty.jpgWith just two months remaining until "American Idol" ends for the season, Steven Tyler needed to find something to do with his time. It appears he's decided to take a little trip - Aerosmith is going back on tour.

On Wednesday (March 28), the group announced their plans to kick off their "Global Warming" tour in Minneapolis on June 16. It's currently scheduled to go through August 8. Cheap Trick will be the opening act.

The Bad Boys from Boston also announced that they're putting the finishing touches on their 15th studio album, but just their first in eight years. It appears it will be ready in three months.

"We've been underground for four months, doing what we do best," Tyler says. "We got two more songs to finish" before mixing. The album will feature songs titled "Legendary Child," "Beautiful" and "Out Go the Lights."

So Zappers, are you going to catch Aerosmith when they're out on the road?
