"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" had a strong premiere, and the ratings for the show are only getting stronger. Almost a week after the new TV tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe premiered on ABC, the network announced that 22.1 million viewers have tuned in.

The pilot initially brought in 12.1 million when it premiered on Sept. 24. In the days since, 3.7 million watched the show on DVR, 4.7 million watched on "Agents of SHIELD's" repeat on Sept. 26, and then 1.6 million streamed the pilot online. Not too shabby for the show's first week, but it's yet to be determined if those numbers stick.

Initially the big draw of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" was the fact that it's tied into the Marvel movies, but that will only keep people watching for so long. Episode 2, "0-8-4," will start to make it clear whether people will continue tuning in for the series, or whether it will need to work harder to find a stable audience. Fingers crossed it's the former, because the show definitely has a lot of promise.

Will you be back to keep watching "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD"?
