"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" had its first Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover episode with "The Well," and it will soon be getting another.

As many expected when the "Thor: The Dark World" tie-in was confirmed, the ABC drama will get a "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" episode as well. The reason? Not just because it means a ratings boost, but because much of the plot of the "Captain America" sequel involves SHIELD.

"Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] is in that one, and S.H.I.E.L.D. makes an appearance, so we will definitely try to tee-up some stuff and probably play a little bit of the fallout from that film," Jed Whedon tells TV Guide. "We're hoping to do some cool stuff."

Whedon also tells the site that he thinks there's a "strong chance" that Stan Lee will appear on "Agents of SHIELD." He also still stands by the fact Coulson isn't a Life Model Decoy.

"We know that there's going to be a lot of theories and there's no chance that whatever we reveal won't, at some point, be written on the internet," Whedon says. "We're just trying to come up with ways to make it surprising or make it not how they expected it to unravel. We know what it is, but we know that no one else does yet."

"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8 p.m.
