The next iteration of "Disney Infinity" is coming, and it's going to be a lot more super. "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" leading man Clark Gregg kicked off a big announcement of "Disney Infinity 2.0," which will feature "Marvel Super Heroes."
The reveal in Los Angeles also featured some fun footage where Samuel L. Jackson, in character as Nick Fury, says "Project Infinity" will bring together some of Marvel's greatest heroes. A "post-credits tease" at the end of the event promised more information to come at E3 in June.
The latest iteration of "Disney Infinity" will focus on the Marvel properties owned by Disney. The new version of the game will be compatible with "Disney Infinity 1.0," and will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC and mobile in fall 2014. The starter pack for "Marvel Super Heroes" includes Thor, Iron Man and Black Widow. Also included are a crystal shard piece and additional tower defense and dungeon crawler game modes.
The first line-up of figurines includes the previously mentioned three, Captain America, Hulk and Black Widow. Also coming are the Winter Soldier, Iron Patriot, Loki, Spider-Man, MODOK, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, as well as Disney-centric characters. Even Coulson's car Lola will be added to the new version of the game.
Other updates in the toys-meets-video game project are an increased level cap of 20, a new tree system for upgrades, pre-made game templates in Toy Box mode, larger maps and new abilities.
