Alex Rodriguez gets hit by baseball pitch, crowd cheers - Watch
Even though Alex Rodriguez is suspended from 211 Major League Baseball games for the "use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including testosterone and human growth hormone, over the course of multiple years," he still suited up to play with the New York Yankees against the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 7.
Since Rodriguez is appealing the MLB suspension, he is eligible to continue playing until the appeal is complete. That doesn't mean that fans have to be happy about his continued presence in the world of professional baseball, though. During the Aug. 7 game, a pitch hit Rodriguez in the stomach and the White Sox home crowd cheered as a response.
Rodriguez laughed off the incident, but chances are he'll receive more of this type of treatment in the future. The Yankees have one more game against the White Sox before they move on to play the Detroit Tigers later this week.
