You knew she could be funny. You knew she could act. But did you know that Alison Brie is a secret rapper?

The "Community" actress showed off her freestyle-rap skills during an appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." And the results were indeed impressive.

Granted, as Brie herself acknowledges before she begins, she is an amateur rapper. The actress points out that she works with an actual professional on "Community" -- Donald Glover, who performs his music under the name Childish Gambino. It was the presence of Glover as well as the beat-boxing skills of Danny Pudi that first inspired Brie to jokingly throw her hat into the rap battle.

The results are predictably amusing. Some of the best lines from Brie's performance:

  • "Yeah, you don't know! What am I sayin'? I told you that yesterday!"
  • "We're talkin' 'bout 'Community,' you're going to laugh so much you don't have immunity -- catchin' a comedy cold!"
  • "Takin' sheets from the bed to make a fort..." (You've got to love random references to the show...)
  • "My name is Ali Brie. I'm on 'Community.' Thursday nights on NBC!" (What am I bet that she's used this one before?)

As Brie mentioned, "Community" airs Thursdays at 8pm on NBC. This week they're going to an Inspector Spacetime convention!
