If a pseudo-confident Susan Lucci isn't enough to calm your nerves over the rumored threat of cancellation for "All My Children," this should help put your mind at ease.

Soaps In Depth reports that former "AMC" head writer Lorrain Broderick is replacing current scribes David Kreizman and Donna Swajewski and returning to her position as point person on the show. Broderick is said to have signed a multi-year contract with ABC.

An "AMC" staffer since 1979, Broderick left the series for some years, only returning in 2009 as an associate head writer.

She's also held the head writer's job at "Guiding Light" and "Another World" -- neither of which are still on the air.
