'Hit the Floor's' Allison Holker previews Season 2 and her 'So You Think You Can Dance' returnAdd to Favorites | Hit the Floor
"What I can tell you is that Sloane (Kimberly Elise) has become our coach and she wants to make some changes to the team," says Holker. "She wants to take it to where she thinks the team should be, so I think this season there are a few twists as far as what the Devil Girls look like because Sloane changes a lot.
"But it's for the better, she's looking out for us as a team. There's a brightness to it. That's all I can tell you, but there are a lot of highs and lows with the show. Expect anything."
One thing the fans can definitely expect is more of the provocative drama that they saw in Season 1. "It's really exciting. It's a super hot and sexy show," says Holker, adding that she thinks the weekly dance numbers add to the steamy nature and energy of the series.
"[Choreographer Michael Rooney] is just incredible, he makes us super sexy and super hot, but at the same time, we're super athletic," says Holker. "He wants us to look like we're really strong and athletic and we have talent, so it's great. Coming from 'So You Think You Can Dance,' I'm able to show the quality of what I've learned from that show in this show."
But those athletic dance numbers don't just come together in a day. Holker tells us that the Devil Girls dancers work incredibly hard to put forth those routines every week.
"We train every single day," says Holker. "We're in rehearsals and in the dance studio every single day. We also work out at the gym every day and try to keep our bodies really fit, we eat really healthy. These numbers are really hard and we want our team to look the best. We watch other teams' stuff and we really want to know what's hot in the cheer world."
So far, Holker has only had a few lines here and there as a member of the dance squad, but she would certainly love to get more involved in the storylines of the show. "If there's another season, maybe a discussion could be had," she says with a laugh. But she adds that fans can also look forward to seeing her this summer on "So You Think You Can Dance."
"I'm hoping to evolve more this year, so I'm hoping that this year I can do more choreography, the creative artistic side of directing. I'm hoping the show gives me another chance to explore that," says Holker.
"Hit the Floor" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on VH1 and "So You Think You Can Dance" premieres its 11th season on Wednesday, May 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
