Amanda Bynes denied release from psychiatric hospital - report

It looks like Amanda Bynes will be staying put for now. A report from TMZ says the former child star has lost her bid to leave the psychiatric hospital she's been in, after being placed on an involuntary 5150 hold.

She was initially supposed to be held for 72 hours, before a judge extended her stay by two weeks. It's been reported that Amanda has been responding well to the combination of medication she's being given by doctors, who believe she suffers from schizophrenia.

Amanda's lawyer argued that there isn't a legal basis for holding her for the additional two weeks in the hospital, but the judge disagreed.

This all started when Amanda was taken into custody after starting a fire on the driveway of a Thousand Oaks, Cal. home on July 22.
