Amanda Bynes' parents file for conservatorship after outbursts in hospital
The comparisons between Amanda Bynes and Britney Spears are becoming ever more clear. Like Spears was placed under the conservatorship of her father in 2008, so too are Bynes' parents trying to gain conservatorship of their troubled daughter.
TMZ reports that Lynn and Rick Bynes filed the necessary court documents for a conservatorship with a California judge. If it's granted, they will have control over certain decision-making elements of Bynes' life.
Bynes is currently hospitalized on an involuntary 5150 hold after setting a small fire in a Thousand Oaks, Calif. neighborhood. A court hearing is being held Friday to determine what should be done with her going forward. The current rumor is that Bynes is showing signs of schizophrenia.
Another TMZ report based on "sources with knowledge of the situation" say that Bynes will go through phases where she's lucid for 10 hours at a time and then go "off the handle crazy." Apparently Bynes is aware "there's a good Amanda and a bad Amanda," and "when she talks about the bad Amanda she almost mimics an exorcism, pulling at her body as if to remove the demon, and even biting herself." According to TMZ, Bynes was drug tested and showed up negative for everything except marijuana.
