Amanda Bynes pleads not guilty to DUI charge
Bynes was arrested on April 6 after clipping a cop car with her BMW in Hollywood. The "What I Like About You" star refused to submit to a breathalyzer or blood test, so it was never determined whether or not Bynes was, in fact, under the influence.
And, Bynes has taken to Twitter to lobby on her own behalf and proclaim her innocence. On Tuesday, she tweeted a message to President Obama asking him to "fire the cop who arrested me."
A few days earlier, Bynes tweeted, "I can't help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don't drink so the DUI is false."
If Bynes is found guilty, she faces a minimum sentence of 48 hours in jail, which TMZ says would likely be closer to just a few hours because of jail overcrowding.
