AMAs 2013: Katy Perry goes Japanese for bizarre 'Unconditionally' performance
Katy Perry kicked off the 2013 American Music Awards with a truly bizarre -- yet quite beautiful -- performance of her new single, "Unconditionally."
Looking like a geisha straight out of a classic Japanese setting, Perry put on not only a beautiful, artistic visual performance, but she also sounded great.
Wearing a traditional Japanese kimono, Perry was surrounded by colorfully costumed dancers waving fans and playing the drums. Near the end of the performance, Perry twirled a colorful umbrella as a strobe light intensified her dance.

While Perry's AMAs performance of "Unconditionally" was entertaining and interesting, we're not sure what inspired her to give it a Japanese twist. What did you think of the opening number?
