Amber Portwood released from prison: 'Teen Mom' star leaves jail early for good behavior
Portwood was released early from her five-year sentence at Indiana's Rockville Correctional Facility on Monday (Nov. 4), thanks to a combination of good behavior, time served and the completion of two unspecified prison courses during her time behind bars, TMZ reports.
The former MTV star entered the big house back in June 2012 after violating probation in her drug possession case. After failing to complete a court-mandated drug-rehab program, Portwood was given the option of entering a drug rehab program or serving five years behind bars. She chose the latter.
Now, 17 months later, she's returning to her former life, telling paparazzi outside the jail that the first thing she wants to go is "go get something good to eat." In the video, she's also seen getting a microphone put on. Is a return to reality TV in the works?
Do you think Portwood ought to have been released so early?
