Amber Rose: A brief history on the bald and the beautiful
So to celebrate the happy couple's pending nuptials, we thought we'd offer a deeper (though sort of shallow) look at the bald and the beautiful Amber Rose, born Amber Levonchuck -- yeah, we see why she changed it.
So why is she famous? Sure, she's a model and has appeared in various music videos, but if we're getting down to brass tacks, it's because the 28-year-old dated Kanye West. Incidentally, her appearance in Ludacris' "What Them Girls Like" video is where West first noticed her in 2008. He then asked her to appear in his own music video for "Robocop," which was never released, and later invited her to the Grammys. She was also his date for the now-infamous Video Music Awards, where West interrupted Taylor Swift's speech.
In 2009, Rose mixed work with pleasure, posing nude for a Louis Vuitton ad alongside West. She's also the face of Smirnoff Vodka.
In her own words on why she's such a hot topic, Rose tells the New York Post, "I've had two men in the music industry who loved me to death -- and I have a bald head. Well, one man that loves me to death, and the other that loved me halfway."
Oh yeah, about that ...
In January, Rose revealed that Kim Kardashian was the reason behind her breakup with West. "She's a homewrecker!" she tells Star. "They were both cheating on me and Reggie [Bush] with each other."
She later apologized, telling TMZ "I actually feel bad that I called her a homewrecker because that was kind of mean. ... I just acted on my emotions when I said it ... I forgive her and I forgive Kanye too."
As for the bald head, according to the New York Post, the Philadelphia native shaved it at 19 while living in the Bronx and working as a stripper.
"After I shaved, it I cried for a few days, until I realized it looked dope," she tells the Post. "Sinead O'Connor was a bald-headed bad-a--, and I loved her."
