'American Horror Story': Adam Levine thinks he's 'going to be kind of playing [him]self'

adam-levine-ahs-getty.jpg Adam Levine, rock star and judge on NBC's "The Voice," has confirmed to E! News that he is definitely going to be gracing our TV screens next fall in an entirely new way - as a character on "American Horror Story."

"It is the truth. I mean, it's pretty much happening. I think it's happening. I don't know how much I can divulge, because Ryan [Murphy] is very under wraps," says Levine.

OK, so not exactly a ringing endorsement. But we can't imagine he'd be talking about it at all if it wasn't looking solid. And Levine is excited about it.

"It's going to be fun. And I told [Ryan] I really didn't know what I was doing, but he didn't seem to really care. So I'm just going to go and try to [do] acting. I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy," says Levine.

It is rumored he's part of a pair of characters called "The Lovers." We already know that last season actors Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto will be returning, so perhaps Levine's partner is one of them. We kind of hope it's not Quinto - not that Levine and Quinto wouldn't make an excellent couple, but because that was kind of done in Season 1. Maybe Levine will be paired up with Paulson - that'd be interesting.

"American Horror Story" should return to FX in October 2012. We can't wait.
