'American Horror Story: Asylum' ratings: Best numbers to date for FX horror show
In the 10 p.m. ET/PT hour, "AHS" was the no. 1 program versus the broadcast networks in the 18-34 demo, beating "Nashville," "CSI" and "Chicago Fire" in viewers by several hundred thousand viewers each. In the adults 18-49 demo, only "CSI" topped the "American Horror Story" premiere.
The "Asylum" premiere also marked the highest ratings "AHS" has received since it premiered a year ago, up over 650,000 total viewers from the Season 1 premiere.
These are just the Fast National ratings from the Nielsen Company. We'll update when the final cable numbers are in later today.
UPDATE: Altogether, "AHS" drew a combined multi-telecast audience of 5.79 million viewers -- 4.17 million in adults 18-49 -- between the premiere at 10 p.m. ET and encore telecasts at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. That puts the premiere of Season 2 up 15% over the multi-telecast numbers for the Season 1 premiere a year ago.
