'American Horror Story' Season 2 adds James Cromwell to its horror institution

james-cromwell-getty-americ.jpg"American Horror Story" has added another big name to its Season 2 cast - Emmy- and Oscar-nominee James Cromwell, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The second season takes place at an East Coast institution for the criminally insane, overseen by Jessica Lange's character. It will also be set in a different era than present day. Cromwell will play Dr. Arden, a foil for Lange, as she is his boss at the hospital.

Also joining returning actors Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto and Lily Rabe are Chloe Sevigny of "Big Love," Adam Levine of "The Voice" and newcomer Lizzie Brochere.

Cromwell was so good on both "24" and "Six Feet Under," plus "L.A. Confidential" and "Babe." We think he's a terrific addition to the "American Horror Story" cast - what do you think, "AHS" fans?
