For the "American Idol" finale, Phillip Phillips performed a couple middle-of-the-road Phillip-y numbers, but then he got an awesome single for Round 3.

His first song, chosen by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, was "Stand by Me" by Ben. E. King. It wasn't our favorite Phillip performance. He could've made more of a moment out of it, instead of being so milquetoast. Vocally, it was more on pitch than he's been before, but it just didn't do it for us. Jessica easily won Round 1.

For Round 2, we thought for sure Phillip would choose "Volcano," which we thought was one of his best moments of the entire season. Instead, he goes with "Movin' Out" by Billy Joel and even with the arrangement being closer to the original than the first time Phillip performed it, it still is a weird choice for us. We agree with Steven Tyler that Jessica won Round 2 as well, though the margin was not as wide.

In Round 3, Phillip got "Home," a wonderful single that will probably be very successful for him. He easily won the third round, not just because his song was better but because he performed it better.

So what do you think, gang? Will Phillip beat Jessica?
