chris-daughtry-today-320.jpgWhen Chris Daughtry performs on the "American Idol" Top 12-turned-Top 11 results show, he'll be the second former "Idol" finalist to grace this year's stage after Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina performed during the Top 13 results show.

Zap2it spoke with the contestants this week, and many of them expressed their excitement for the singer and his band to perform on the show.

Phillip Phillips
says he's looking forward to Daughtry's performance.

"I do enjoy Daughtry and he's got some good songs," Phillips tells Zap2it. "He seems like he's a good guy -- I'd like to meet him and find out! I liked how he didn't win and he's one of the most successful artists from this show."

Colton Dixon, on the other hand, actually got to meet Daughtry recently after befriending the singer on Twitter.

"Oh my goodness -- thanks to Chris for letting me hang with him and the band and meeting up with me," he says. "Such a nice guy -- such a genuine, humble guy who's been in the same shoes that we're in. It was cool to hear what he had to say and what he thought about the show, which was all positive, so it just gets me excited about what's ahead."

Skylar Laine and Erika Van Pelt are psyched for Daughtry, too, but for a slightly different reason. "We're so excited. Me and EVP have a crush on Chris Daughtry," Laine says.

"We do," Van Pelt admits. "I mean, who doesn't? He's great! He's cute."
