'American Idol': Jennifer Lopez says she 'might perform' on the show
In an interview with Latina magazine, the new judge says, "I might perform on the show. They offered. I said, 'We'll see!'" Lopez would probably perform new music from "Love?", her latest album.
Lopez doesn't believe people will be too surprised by her personality when they watch her on the show, but says viewers will see her and fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler having a good time. "We really enjoy each other. We're having a great time," she says. "We have some great talent. It's a new show -- it's the same show, but it's new because it's me and Steven and Randy. It's a different dynamic now."
She continues, "It has a fresh, new feeling. Where else could everything that Steven and I have experience and gone through and learned in our lives -- where else could we pass that knowledge along? Even though we are judging them and have to give some harsh criticism sometimes, what we're trying to do is help them be better and to grow as artists."
At the beginning, J.Lo said it was hard to criticize hopefuls. "For me it was trying to find a way to do it in the way that I wanted to be heard. But after awhile you find your stride."
The mother of two says she has brought her kids on set, but it's her husband Marc Anthony who enjoys "Idol" the most. "The family has been on set. Marc loves going. He loves the show and it's like watching the show for hours a day." Still, don't expect to see him on the show anytime soon. "No cameo for Marc planned," Lopez says with a laugh.
