'American Idol' judges announced by ... Katie Couric? Jennifer Lopez weighs in
Did new talk show host Katie Couric just "announce" the new "American Idol" judges?
"Katie" is one of several new talk shows dotting the TV landscape and as such, it sends out previews for upcoming shows. The preview for the Friday, Sept. 14 episode reads as follows (and video is above):
Jennifer Lopez on the new American Idol judges (which Katie Couric reveals during their interview):
KC: What do you think about the new group of judges?
JL: Did they announce?
JL: Who is it?
KC: Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy [Jackson]. Randy's back.
JL: Randy is! Oh thank god. I love Randy. I'm glad he's doing it.
KC: What do you think of that group? That's sort of interesting, don't you think?
JL: That's an eclectic group.
JL: Yeah it is.
KC: I'm glad. I think it will be fun to have Keith Urban there.
JL: I think they all have something really different to offer so it should be interesting.
The word on the street is FOX is officially announcing the judges Friday and it's not exactly surprise news that it's Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. But we suspect the announcement was not going to be made by Katie Couric and Jennifer Lopez.
