'American Idol' judges to perform together? 'I'm game for anything,' says Harry Connick Jr.Add to Favorites | American Idol
While we were curious about last year's panel in that horrified-but-can't-look-away kind of way, this year we're just excited about three smart, funny judges enjoying themselves and their job.
"It's three people who are having a friggin' ball. The show is really goofy, it's really serious and it's real fun. It's really heartfelt. It's everything you want 'Idol' to be," Harry Connick Jr. tells E! Online.
He also echoes his previous sentiments directed at Mariah Carey when she compared her "Idol" gig to working in "hell with Satan."
"It's the easiest gig in the world. It really is. Look at what we do. We go and we get hair and makeup done, wear nice clothes and go sit and listen to singers and tell them that we think. Let's get real here," says Connick Jr.
When asked if the three judges would ever perform together on the show, Connick Jr. says it's a possibility.
"It's kind of been hinted at. I'm game for anything. I would totally dig it," says Connick Jr. "You're talking about three completely different singers. It would be great."
We frankly cannot imagine what kind of performance country star Keith Urban, pop diva Jennifer Lopez and crooner Harry Connick Jr. would do together, but it would probably be spectacular.
"American Idol" premieres Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 on FOX.
