'American Idol': Justin Bieber has segment, not performance for 'Idol Gives Back'

justin-bieber-getty.jpgThere are conflicting reports about Justin Bieber's involvement in "Idol Gives Back," the "American Idol" charity event taking place Wednesday, April 21. But FOX has confirmed to Zap2it that while Bieber has pre-taped a segment for the show, it is not a performance.

We were actually in attendance for Bieber's pre-taping. He gave out information on how you can donate to the "Idol Gives Back" causes and he also gave his answer to the question "What is the last thing your mother gave you?," which the "Idol" producers have asked every celebrity who's participated in the pre-taped segments.

Bieber's answer was "a hug." All together now -- awwwww.

Bieb also pre-taped a performance of his hit song "Baby," which has been playing on a continuous loop in our head ever since. However, the song will not be airing during "Idol Gives Back." Oooh, intrigue. So at some results show in the future you can look forward to some "Baby" by Bieber. Lady Antebellum is another act that recently pre-taped a results show performance, so country week cannot be far off.
