'American Idol': Michael Lynche's 'This Woman's Work'

michael-lynche-this-womans-work-320.jpg Michael Lynche moved Kara DioGuardi to tears -- the first time we've ever seen that in her two seasons on "American Idol" -- with his performance of "This Woman's Work."

The other judges were as effusive as they've been all season too, and going into Thursday's (March 11) announcement of the top 12, he's put himself ahead of the pack -- at least among the guys. After a night of mostly safe, standing-still-with-guitars performances from the rest of the top eight men, Lynche used the final spot to his huge advantage, moving all over the stage and hitting a couple big notes at the end.

See for yourself:

Lynche covered Maxwell's version of the song, but did you know it was originally written and performed by Kate Bush (and for the John Hughes movie "She's Having a Baby," no less)? Just for fun, here's her version.
