'American Idol': Naima Adedapo nails 'Dancing in the Streets'

naima-idol-11.jpgWhen Naima Adedapo added dance moves and a reggae vibe to her rendition of Rihanna's "Umbrella" in "American Idol's" 13th week, she was praised by the judges for kicking her game up a notch, but warned -- by Jennifer Lopez, who should totally know -- that it's hard to get your breath and stay in pitch when trying to execute choreography.

Fast forward to week 11 and Naima seems to have figured out how to walk and chew gum. Motown week and Martha and the Vandellas' "Dancing in the Streets" fit Naima like a glove, giving Randy Jackson no room for his weekly accusation of "pitchiness."

Naima spiced up her performance with African dance and drums, giving Jennifer Lopez her "first little goosebumps of the night."

As for Randy, he finally gave Naima the props we knew she deserved, saying, "I've been a little rough on you, but finally tonight all of Naima showed up."

We agree, though we hope next week she doesn't show up in bell bottoms again.

What did you think of Naima's performance?
