'American Idol': Preview Carrie Underwood's holiday special

carrie-underwood-holidays.jpgFOX and Carrie Underwood will try to put you in the seasonal spirit Monday night with a two-hour holiday special.

The season four "American Idol" winner is the host and featured performer in "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special," which has the feel of an old-school variety show and features a handful of comedy bits in addition to the music.

Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and fellow "Idol" champ David Cook are among the guests, and Underwood does a girl-group number with Kristin Chenoweth and Christina Applegate. But make no mistake -- this is Carrie's show, and judging by clips FOX has released she'll be front and center for just about the entire two hours (hey, her name's on the marquee, so why not?)

Take a peek at some clips from the show, which is produced by former "Idol" (and current "So You Think You Can Dance") exec producer Nigel Lythgoe.
