"American Idol" Season 12 is doing a great job in bringing back past "Idol" winners for performances. After Carrie Underwood sang for the Top 7 elimination show, there's really only one way to beat that for the next week: Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson will perform on Thursday, April 11 during the Top 6 "Idol" results show.

Of course, even Clarkson performing her new single, "People Like Us," isn't enough singing for a single night. She will be joined on the stage by yet another alum, Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery. Both are scheduled to entertain us while we wait to find out which of the Top 6 singers will move on to the Top 5.

In order to make it through next week, each of the remaining six competitors will need to perform two songs. We don't know the theme for one of those tunes, but the other will reflect "A Song I Wish I Had Written."

What songs will those be? There's no telling, but since several of this year's "Idol" hopefuls are confessed songwriters -- in addition to Angie Miller's already-performed original song, Kree Harrison has mentioned a possible self-written tune -- we could hear the influences that truly made these singers what they are.

"American Idol" will air Wednesday (April 10) and Thursday (April 11) at 8pm on FOX.
