'American Idol': Scott MacIntyre, Matt Giraud return to 'Tell Her About It'

Matt and Scott are getting a second chance at their nixed "American Idol" finale number.

Last spring, they were scheduled to perform the Billy Joel hit "Tell Her About It," but when Billy Joel had to back out, their number was cut for time because it had no celebrity guest star. MacIntyre quipped to Access Hollywood, " Perhaps Tatiana and Bikini Girl were more important after all."

This year, they are getting another shot. On the Thursday, March 11 results show, Giraud and MacIntyre will get their dueling pianos on as they jam out to "Tell Her About It" as we find out which singers comprise the season 9 Top 12. Unfortunately, Billy Joel will not be joining them on stage but it still promises to be a great performance. Both Giraud and MacIntyre can really tickle the ivories.

MacIntyre will undoubtedly also be promoting his upcoming album "Heartstrings," which hits stores March 11.

Scott and Matt will join Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Danny Gokey as season 8 finalists returning to "American Idol." Adam Lambert has tweeted that he will be joining "Idol" later this season as well.
