'American Idol': Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina's first week sales

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina's debut singles landed in the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. "I Love You This Big" debuted at No. 11 while "Like My Mother Does" came in at No. 20.

On the Digital Songs chart, Scotty's coronation song hit No. 3 with 171,000 downloads. The single also broke the Country chart record for best debut by a new artist, landing at No. 32. Lauren's "Like My Mother Does" debuted at No. 11 on Digital songs with 121,000 downloads sold.

Both Scotty and Lauren topped Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze, whose single "Beautiful Day" (a U2 cover) debuted at No. 24 and saw 95,000 downloads its first week.

On the iTunes singles chart, Scotty had the 3rd best selling single and album, while Lauren placed 8th on the iTunes single and album charts. HDD reports that a compilation album consisting of Scotty's singles from Season 10 sold 23,785 copies (No. 11), while Lauren's "Idol" compilation album sold 11,318 copies (No. 39).

Scotty and Lauren recently signed with Mercury Nashville, who ran an ad in the Billboard Country Update welcoming Scotty and Lauren to the family and thanking "Country Radio for a great start." A great start indeed.
