The "American Idol" host is scheduled to visit queen of talk Oprah Winfrey on her show Thursday, May 20 to say so long to the hit FOX reality show before heading to "The X-Factor."

"After 9 years as the judge everyone loves to hate on American Idol, Simon Cowell is saying goodbye," states Oprah.com. "In an exclusive farewell interview, he opens up about why he decided to leave and what comes next."

Then, there have been rumors that Cowell, 50, will be knighted at the Queen's birthday honors to be held on June 12, reports the UK's Mirror.

Supposedly, he'll be recognized for his contribution to Britain's entertainment industry, but also for his humanitarian works, such as arranging the fundraising CD for the Haiti earthquake victims.
