'American Idol' Top 4 singers respond to Lazaro Arbos' comments
After their Top 4 performances, we asked Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb and Angie Miller what they thought about Lazaro's comments.
What did Lazaro say exactly? In an interview with ABC News Radio , the eliminated singer said, "I'm not gonna say names and I don't wanna sound rude, but I think that one woman in particular is crazy and she wants to win! She thinks that we're in 'The Hunger Games' and she's fighting for her life."
None of the girls knew the exact words or the context of Lazaro's comments and mostly seemed confused about what he meant. "I don't really know what he meant," Candice said. "I heard some comment about 'The Hunger Games.' I heard about us being crazy. I mean, I don't know."
Amber, who is a good friend of Lazaro's and says she's been texting him since his elimination, had heard even less about the interview. "I don't even know what was said," Amber explained. "He's like my best friend. I love him. Like I said, I don't know what was said or what happened."
Like Amber, Angie hadn't heard too much about Lazaro's interview, and she didn't seem too concerned. "I don't really know all the stuff that they're saying," Angie said. "It stinks that people are saying that, because probably all of it is lies. But it doesn't affect me. We all get along great so that doesn't affect me."
Although she wasn't about to excuse the behavior, Candice said that she did understand why Lazaro might have said what he did. "When you're feelings are hurt and stuff and you get cut you do say things that you don't mean," she said. "I'm not making any excuses for him, but I do understand where he's coming from."
Should Lazaro have kept his mouth shut about his fellow contestants? At least they do seem pretty understanding of it all!
