'American Idol's' Lee Dewyze on 'Hallelujah,' 'Simple Man' -- Did he just win?

lee-dewyze-top3-idol.jpg Lee Dewyze unequivocally won the Top 3 night on "American Idol" with his performances of "Hallelujah" and "Simple Man." We felt it, the audience felt it and the judges felt it. But did he win the entire competition? Perhaps.

"Hallelujah" was an incredible moment. We had goosebumps and teared up a little. Audience members were standing and swaying, like people do at more rambunctious church services. The audience members leapt to their feet afterwards in thunderous applause. We have never seen anything like it this season and can only imagine what the "moments" from other seasons must have been like.

Crystal is a talented singer, to be sure, but we haven't seen the kind of reaction to her that Lee got from "Hallelujah," not even when she cried at the end of "People Get Ready." She's been the favorite all season, pimped endlessly by Sir Simon Cowell himself, but Lee Dewyze may have just put the heat on.

Not only was "Hallelujah" absolutely THE moment of the season so far, but his "Simple Man" was also excellent. It was the first time we think we've heard Lee let it really rip. We hope he's got some more of this up his sleeves for the finale.
