'American Idols Live Tour 2010' cancels, shuffles show dates: WTH is going on?

american-idol-top-10-320.jpgIs the unprecedented retooling and reshuffling madness that's going on with this summer's " American Idols Live Tour 2010" foreshadowing even more major show changes to come for Season 10 viewers?

As previously reported by Zap2it's State of the American Idol Union, host Ryan Seacrest announced -- along with this year's audition cities -- that the eligible age for contenders has been lowered to 15 years old. Additionally, fans and media watchers alike, are anxiously waiting to find out who will fill Simon Cowell's coveted vacant seat at the judges' table. A gazillion names have been rumored as possible replacements all year, and Cowell himself this week said Harry Connick Jr. should be given the job.

Well now we regretfully inform all fellow "American Idol" fanatics that some of you who've been anticipating the arrival of Season 9 winner Lee Dewyze, runner-up Crystal Bowersox and the rest of this year's Top 10 in your city may be waiting indefinitely. Reports around the web indicate that Live Nation and Ticketmaster, who are selling tickets for this year's Idol tour, have canceled and rescheduled some of the original show dates.

Our trusty "American Idol" pal MJ Santilli of mjsbigblog and USA Today Idol have managed to keep track of the insanity. (Props!) So we've pull together the latest information available, as well as reached out to the peeps producing the tour to confirm.

The following cities have tour changes so far:

  • Bridgeport, CT September 13 has been rescheduled to July 9. (via mjsbigblog)
  • Chicago, IL August 30 has been rescheduled to August 28. (via Lee Dewyze's tweet)
  • Cleveland, OH has been canceled. (via USA Today Idol)
  • Buffalo, Kansas City and Omaha shows are still listed on Live Nation's website but they come up as "no longer available". (via mjsbigblog)

Stay tuned for more details as they develop.
