American Music Awards 2012: The Wanted rip it up with 'I Found You'

nathan-sykes-the-wanted-amas-2012.jpg The Wanted didn't score as many nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards as fellow British boy band One Direction. They did, however, score a performance spot on the show, and they made it count.

Their performance of "I Found You" showcased their collective persona as the "edgy" -- insomuch as a boy band can be edgy -- counterpart to the more wholesome-seeming 1D (the video for "I Found You" even comes with an explicit content warning). Backed by a live band on a starkly lit stage, the five guys lived up to the yearning lyrics of the song.

Nathan Sykes practically grasped the camera and shook it during his vocal solo. The other guys were similarly passionate, and the crowd in the theater clearly was eating it up. It played pretty well on TV, too.

So what did you think of The Wanted's performance at the AMAs? Where do you come down on the Wanted-One Direction debate?
